Description
Elexir Epsom salt is a bath salt consisting of 100% magnesium sulfate. Epsom salt, also called bitter salt, is a relaxing bath salt for tired and sore muscles. With its beneficial, moisturizing and soothing effect on the skin, it is a valued salt for the whole body. Can be used in both bathtubs and for foot baths.
The salt is called “Epsom” because the discovery of this salt was made in the English spa town of Epsom in the 17th century. Epsom salt consists of magnesium sulfate, which in turn consists of three elements – magnesium, sulfur and oxygen. When the salt is mixed with water, the salt dissolves and free ions of these substances are released.
You can use Epsom salt for a relaxing bath, softening foot bath or as a body scrub.
Dosage & use
Bath: Dissolve 200g (approx. 2 dl) of salt in warm running water for a relaxing bath. Relax in the bath for 20 minutes. For extra luxury, it is good to add a fragrant essential oil.
Foot bath: Dissolve 50-100g (approx. 0.5–1 dl) of salt in a foot bath or bucket in warm water for a softening foot bath. Feel free to add a fragrant essential oil such as peppermint for an extra refreshing feeling.
Body scrub: Mix 1 part body oil of your choice with two parts salt and about 10-20 drops of your choice of essential oil (if you want a fragrance). Store in an airtight glass jar. You can then have it by the bath and enjoy whenever you want as a body scrub or as bath salts.
In case of skin irritation, discontinue use immediately. Avoid contact with eyes. If you get salt in your eyes, rinse immediately with water. Do not use if you have inflamed or damaged skin. For external use.
